Today I am going to share with you a couple affirmations that will boost feelings of love and confidence in your mind, body, and spirit.

If you think you've never done affirmations before - you're wrong. Affirmations are self-talk. We affirm who we are to ourselves every single day through affirmations. We do this all the time whether we are aware of it or not. The difference between normal self-talk and these affirmations is that they are more deliberate and intentional. Plus, most of our routine self-talk is negative and lazy, whereas these affirmations are literally seeds of love that you plant in the soil of your mind.

A few things to keep in mind when saying affirmations:
  1. If you feel awkward or nervous, that's okay. Allow yourself to feel what ever you feel. Notice it and be with it for a minute. Don't try to feel something different. How does you body feel? What thoughts are associated with the feeling?
  2. You have to believe what you are saying for them to really work. This will happen more easily with practice and by stating your affirmations with confidence and enthusiasm.
  3. Affirmations are a tool. Like any tool, you must understand how it works for maximum effectiveness. Every screwdriver doesn't fit every screw. You have to experiment and find one that fits.
Now, before you start, find a quite place where you are alone and can concentrate. Pick somewhere familiar and comfortable. Take a feel deep belly-breaths. Next, consider looking at yourself in a mirror while saying the affirmations. Look directly in your eyes. I can personally attest that I've come to tears and experienced incredible catharsis by doing so.
The first affirmation is for overcoming regret:
Even though I [fill in with something you are feeling bad about], I deeply love and forgive myself.
State these words boldly and powerfully. With this one, I like to focus on the "even though" at the start.

The second affirmation is for expanding gratitude:
Thank you for working so hard every day. I love you.
I state this affirmation with my hand on my heart. I say the words directly to my heart in appreciation of it.

How you speak to yourself matters tremendously. No one on God's green Earth deserves your love more than you.

Please comment below. I would love to hear your own experiences with affirmations.
